A native New Yorker,\u00a0Susan Sarandon<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0began her career on the soap opera\u00a0A World Apart<\/em>\u00a0and worked steadily through the 1970s, earning attention with her role in the cult classic\u00a0The Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/em>\u00a0(1975).<\/p>\n

Her critical breakthrough came with an Oscar-nominated performance in\u00a0Atlantic City<\/em>\u00a0(1980), which launched her into Hollywood\u2019s A-list. Sarandon went on to earn additional Academy Award nominations for\u00a0Thelma & Louise<\/em>\u00a0(1991),\u00a0Lorenzo\u2019s Oil<\/em>\u00a0(1992), and\u00a0The Client<\/em>\u00a0(1994) before winning her first Oscar for\u00a0Dead Man Walking<\/em>\u00a0(1995).<\/p>\n

Since then, she\u2019s showcased her incredible range across comedies, dramas, and political thrillers. Her film credits include\u00a0Pretty Baby<\/em>\u00a0(1978),\u00a0The Witches of Eastwick<\/em>\u00a0(1987),\u00a0Bull Durham<\/em>\u00a0(1988),\u00a0Little Women<\/em>\u00a0(1994),\u00a0James and the Giant Peach<\/em>\u00a0(1996),\u00a0Stepmom<\/em>\u00a0(1998),\u00a0Enchanted<\/em>\u00a0(2007),\u00a0Speed Racer<\/em>\u00a0(2008),\u00a0The Lovely Bones<\/em>\u00a0(2009),\u00a0Cloud Atlas<\/em>\u00a0(2012),\u00a0Tammy<\/em>\u00a0(2014),\u00a0The Meddler<\/em>\u00a0(2015),\u00a0A Bad Moms Christmas<\/em>\u00a0(2017), and many others. On television, she\u2019s appeared in shows like\u00a0Friends<\/em>\u00a0(2001),\u00a0Malcolm in the Middle<\/em>\u00a0(2002), and\u00a0Feud: Bette and Joan<\/em>\u00a0(2017).<\/p>\n
